Bolton CVS is excited to announce an open call for submissions for a vibrant art competition, part of the Bolton Town of Culture celebrations! Whether you’re an experienced artist or a creative newcomer, we want YOU to showcase your talent and make your mark in the heart of Bolton.
The theme for the competition is ‘We Are Here’, and we’re asking local artists to submit an artwork—either as an A6-sized physical piece or as digital image—that reflects the spirit of our wonderful town. The competition is open to anyone based in Bolton, and it’s the perfect opportunity to share your creativity with the community.
Nine exceptional pieces of art will be chosen to be photographed and enlarged and displayed in the reception and meeting rooms of the Bolton Hub, located right in the Bolton Town Centre!
Your artwork will be seen by many, and you’ll be alongside the work of fellow talented local artists. Along with each piece, we’ll proudly display the name and details of the artist, giving you the recognition you deserve.
The ‘We Are Here’ theme offers endless possibilities for interpretation—whether it’s a personal expression of belonging, a celebration of Bolton’s rich history, or an abstract take on community and identity. Whatever inspires you, we want to see it!
How to Enter:
– Complete this simple entry form (this can be found by clicking here or hard copies can be picked up at the reception desk of the Bolton Hub).
– Submit your artwork in A6 size (either physical or digital) by Sunday 23rd March 2025, 23:59.
– Get creative with the theme ‘We Are Here’. There are no limits to your imagination!
– All individuals/groups who submit artwork will be invited to The Bolton Hub Art Exhibition on Thursday 27th March, 4-5:30pm to meet other artists, celebrate your work, and enjoy the buzz of the Bolton art scene! Our 9 winners will be announced at this event!!
(Artists will also be able to collect their original artwork at this event if they wish to).
