Description: Volunteer Youth Worker Location: Believe Achieve CIC Youth Centre, Bolton Time Commitment: Flexible, with sessions taking place Monday to Saturday. Purpose of the Role: As a Volunteer Youth Worker, you will play a key role in creating a supportive, safe, and fun environment for young people in our community. Your contributions will help young people build confidence, learn valuable skills, and engage positively with others. Key Responsibilities: - Engaging with Young People: - Build strong, positive relationships with young people, offering encouragement and guidance. - Promote participation in activities, ensuring everyone feels included and supported. Supporting Activities: - Assist in organising and leading sessions, including arts and crafts, sports, workshops, and group discussions. - Help with special events, holiday activities, and trips. Maintaining a Safe Space: - Promote safeguarding practices and uphold centre guidelines to create a safe and inclusive environment. - Monitor behaviour and provide emotional support when needed. - Encouraging Personal Development: - Motivate young people to take on leadership opportunities and develop new skills. - Provide a listening ear to support their mental health and well-being. - General Centre Support: - Help set up and tidy the space before and after sessions. - Ensure all equipment and resources are used and maintained appropriately. - Benefits of Volunteering with Us: - Travel expenses reimbursed. - 50% deposit required for your DBS check, this will be paid back after the first four weeks of volunteering. - Gain valuable experience in youth work and community support. - Free training opportunities to enhance your skills. - Be part of a supportive, passionate team making a real difference in young people’s lives. - Build your CV with hands-on experience in an inclusive and welcoming environment.
