Description: We're the charity that supports people as they become parents. Local NCT groups and activities are an essential part of what we do and help parents feel confident connected and safe. Walk & Talks are an easy and accessible way to promote physical activity whilst meeting others and having somebody to talk to. As a Walk & Talk Volunteer, you will lead on setting up a new Walk & Talk or support an existing Walk & Talk group in your local area. In this role, you will play an essential role in creating a welcoming and inclusive community for all parents. What’s involved? • Planning and leading a Walk & Talk to support parents in your local community. • Advertising the Walk & Talk to ensure parents knows this is available for them. • Attracting and welcoming new participants to the Walk & Talk. • Following NCT guidance to ensure all events are welcoming, inclusive and safe. • Collecting and sharing information about the difference you make to parents. • Promoting NCT’s values and vision in the local community. Our Walk & Talk Volunteers are; • Able to plan and organise a regular and inclusive Walk & Talk group/groups. • Welcoming to all parents and a good listener. • Passionate about supporting parents • Motivated and reliable Time commitment: • This is a flexible role that can fit around your commitments and availability. • You could volunteer with as little as 2 hours per week, however the time you spend as a Walk & Talk volunteer will depend on when and for how long the activity takes place. What can you expect from us? • A great volunteer experience where you can meet new people and develop skills • Excellent support from experienced volunteers and our Volunteering Team. • Access to an online platform with all the tools, resources and training you will need. • Expenses paid in line with our expenses policy. • We champion equity, diversity and inclusion through all that we do. • Importantly you will have the opportunity to make a real difference to parents in your local community.
