Description: About the Volunteer Role: As a Children's Services Volunteer, you'll work alongside our experienced team to support positive activities for children and young people. You'll assist in our on-site nursery, helping with learning and development for Early Years, or support our After School and Youth Clubs. Volunteers are needed for morning nursery sessions and afternoon club activities, offering a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young lives. Key Duties: • Support the Children's Services Team in delivering positive activities for children and young people (0-16), including one-on-one and group sessions. • Work holistically with families, providing support and information to parents, and emotional support to children affected by domestic abuse. • Help set up and tidy play areas, ensuring compliance with Fortalice’s Health and Safety policy. • Enhance skills and develop strategies for managing challenging behaviour. • Report issues promptly, liaise with your supervisor, and attend meetings. • Maintain accurate records in line with the Data Protection Act, Ofsted, and Fortalice procedures. • Assist with outings during school holidays if possible. Requirements: • Must be 18+ years old. • Female applicants only (as per Section 7.2e of the Equality Act 2010). • Interested in Early Years / working with children and a desire to make a difference. Fortalice Volunteer Role Description • Reliable and flexible to meet the needs of the service. • Enthusiastic and a non-judgmental approach. • Strong communication, teamwork, and relationship-building skills. • Experience and/or awareness of safeguarding children and young people (desirable). • Willingness to undergo training and develop skills. • Commitment of at least 6 months post-training. • Experience of working with children and young people would be desirable but not essential as full training will be provided. Commitment Required: A minimum of three hours per week on a mutually agreed day, with the option to volunteer more. Nursery support is needed Monday to Friday, 9am–1pm, and After School/Youth Club on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:30pm–6:30pm. Morning start times are flexible. Volunteering takes place in Bolton.
