Description: Trustee Provincial/Walsh Trust Bolton Charity with charitable purposes for public benefit. For children, young people and adults living in Borough of Bolton We are a grant giving Trust; providing grants to individuals/groups/charities based in or around Bolton Borough who are supporting people in Bolton; particularly those in need. The Trust supports children, young people, adults, elderly people and groups in Bolton, particularly those in disadvantaged areas. This could be in relation to learning/development; arts/music/culture; environment; health/care; inter - faith; sports/leisure; social/community. Funding/grant Applications are made by email and considered by the Trust Board 2/3 times a year, and urgent applications may be considered in between. The Trust was originally set up in the 1950s but has more recently combined with two other local Trusts, which has given a boost to the work we are doing. The Trust presently has 6 Trustees, and we are looking for a new member to complement the skills of the present We are looking for an individual to join our charity as a Trustee. What are we looking for? We are seeking some of the following skills - marketing/communications; social media/PR/media; IT/data protection/cyber security; investments; diversity/inclusion. Our Board consists of 6 Trustees, some have served over many years. We are now seeking a new Trustee, perhaps younger, who can add to our present skills and experiences to support the work of the Trust as we progress and help to support groups in Bolton. What difference will you make? We aim to help and support small groups based in the community through to larger groups and organisations who are supporting communities /groups in need etc. On occasion we may match fund with other organisations; often grants are a one-off grant, but we are developing towards more 2/3 year grants to support developing local programmes. Please see our website - pwtb.org.uk for further details. Where Bolton, BL1 1PT mainly operate from home. Knowledge of the area is essential. Time Mostly during office hours Estimate of time needed: 0-5 hours / month Presently 2 trust meetings (2.5 hours) a year. Meetings are held locally and occasionally on line. Occasional additional meetings. Preparation time needed to assess applications. Email correspondence Trustees. Before you apply we would like to know their link to Bolton and area. Also outside work interests. Interest will be shared with the trustees. Potential interview/ meeting with Chair/another Trustee will be arranged.
