The role of trustee requires people who have transferable skills and or experience that can make a valuable contribution to governing the charity. Having animal welfare knowledge is not always an essential requirement but we do want people who are passionate about providing the best outcomes for the dogs and cats in our care. To help us achieve this goal you must be business minded with demonstrable experience in an area that will benefit the charity, and have worked at a managerial level or with previous governance experience. What we are looking for: · A willingness to devote the necessary time, effort and a commitment to attending monthly Trustee Board meetings in Bolton and other ad hoc meetings where necessary. · Have strategic vision and be able to understand and assess risks · Have good, independent judgement. · Understand and accept the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship. · Be able to work effectively as a member of a team and to maintain good working relations. · Have a commitment and passion for animals in particular dogs and cats. We are currently particularly interested in hearing from individuals with finance experience; fundraising experience; IT and Digital and Animal Welfare. These are the four particular requirements to complement the experience of our current trustees but we would also be interested to hear from any applicants who share our values and can bring additional skills and expertise to support the charity to deliver its charitable purpose. These are voluntary roles and as such are unpaid, however reasonable expenses can be reimbursed. How to Apply: Send your CV and Supporting Statement to Vicki Cooper, Interim General Manager at vicki@destituteanimalshelter.org.uk Please note that to become a Trustee, you will need to be aged 18 or over.
