Voice and Influence Spaces

Introduction (General Overview)

As part of the Bolton CVS membership offer, we would like to invite you to access some of our most influential spaces. These spaces are designed for us to hear your voices and for you to be able to contribute to an understanding what Bolton’s VCSE sector looks and operates like. They enable us to advocate with cross-sector partners and allies by understanding some of the common themes you are all experiencing. Below is a list of all the types of Voice and Influence Spaces we currently have at Bolton CVS. It will then be followed by some of the spaces and how you can get involved in them.

Please note: whilst the space types are not changing, our Voice and Influence spaces are ever evolving and may change due to need.

If you would like to access the benefits of these Voice and Influence spaces, plus many other benefits then we highly recommend becoming a member of Bolton CVS.

Types of Voice and Influence Spaces (About V&I)

Below is a list of the types of Voice and Influence spaces we would like to offer to our membership. Defining space types has really allowed us to make sure that we are all coming together for an agreed goal and brings us together, meeting with shared purpose in mind.

Network:
A shared space for people to come together, connect, offer, and receive peer support, share relevant intel, identify common themes or priorities.

Forum:
A Bolton CVS member space where ideas, views, and updates directly relevant to Bolton’s VCSE sector are shared and explored.

Collaborative:
A thematic space for individuals/groups to connect with the intention of collaborating and working in partnership to achieve a common goal.

Panel:
This type of space is currently aspirational for Bolton CVS, but we expect this to be:

Expert (by experience or profession) spaces which fulfil the role of ‘critical friend’ providing an insight and feedback function to the wider sector and system.

Voice and Influence Spaces (Model Visual)

Here is an image of the Voice and Influence model in practice. Clicking on the spaces will give you more information on it. Each page includes frequency, types of attendees the space is aimed at, purpose of the space, and how to get involved.
