Organisation description: The Bolton Living Room is located at Silverwell House and is responsible for providing information, advice, signposting and guidance to centre users, their friends, family, neighbours and colleagues, who require practical rather than therapeutic support. The service is developing a further range of activities to support local communities at the centre. These include further developing its local link with the international charity 'Action for Happiness'. This will involve running volunteer workshops sharing evidence-based ideas and materials to enable practical action to create happier homes, workplaces and communities. We will also be hosting public engagement activities, providing advice and training to organisations and promoting wellbeing throughout our communities. The service includes two members of staff and a team of volunteers, and is currently available Monday to Friday between 9.30am and 4.30pm. We hope to extend timings to evenings and weekends soon.
