Organisation description: Lend a Hand in Horwich was started in March 2020 at the start of the Coronavirus Pandemic, as I was in shielding with my husband. I really wanted to do something to help and there were lots of people across the community who couldn't go out for various reasons and needed help with Shopping, Collecting Medicines, Walking the Dog, Friendly Phone Calls... Lend a Hand has developed over the last year into a trusted and reliable group our amazing volunteers are dedicated to helping and for us nothing is too much trouble from shopping to fitting a lightbulb or delivering food parcels to helping people in desperate circumstances, we help every day... Our Social Media group is very popular with over 1,000 members, we chat, share theatre nights or concerts, run wellbeing events plus much more and we also share important information about booking vaccines and staying safe ect. I'm extremely proud of Lend a Hand and the help we have given and look forward to growing and helping many more people across the borough in the future.
