Organisation description: Bolton Metro Swim Squad is a not for profit, totally self funded high performance swim squad, providing swim coaching for the young people of Bolton and its surrounding areas. Bespoke training programmes for each swimmer helps them achieve the highest potential they can. For some, this is achieving county and regional qualifications, for others this is swimming at national level and beyond. The squad supports both able bodied and para swimmers. One of our para swimmers has recently been selected to represent the UK at the para world championships. The squad has a strong sense of community for both the swimmers and their families. The opportunities we provide, and the world of swimming creates an environment for the young people to grow both physically and emotionally. They learn vital life skills of resilience, confidence, communication and determination with a strong work ethic to take forward into adult life and future employment, with lifelong friendships made. The squad utilises multiple pools across Bolton to provide the training programme. Our Head Coach is a Para Olympian and our Assistant Coach a National Swimmer. Both born and raised in Bolton and both exceptionally passionate about the sport of swimming and delivery the best coaching they can locally to the young people of Bolton but also contributing to the development of swimming nationally. As the squad does not have a dedicated base, the address for the Squad is that of the Chair, whom resides in Chorley. The squad however is very much Bolton based and is passionate about serving its community.
