Who the organisation is for: All
Organisation description: Roots in Fresh Ground (RIFG) is a project established as part of Bolton Brownlow Fold Church of the Nazarene. We have short and longer-term aims: 1) Launching a Community Cafe on 26th August 2022 and 2) offering Barista and catering training that help vulnerable people gain skills, confidence and a sense of self-worth. We are already working in partnership with Bolton at Home and Starts With You to offer employment advice, debt/money/housing advice, digital skills and support to understand the benefits system and how to apply. We aim to reach: Children and families, particularly women: offering affordable coffee/cake/snacks and fellowship. Initially, activity packs will be developed for children, but will focus on strengthening positive community and family values. Homeless: through community partnerships already developed, we hope to support and add value to homeless programmes already in place. RIFG will be a place of welcome for all. Those experiencing homelessness can receive drink/food through ‘Pay it Forward’ contributions, but more importantly they can engage in conversation with volunteers that aims to help develop self-worth, hope and confidence. We will work with support services and act as a sign-post to these. Our long-term aim and vision is to develop Seedlings in Fresh Ground (SIFG): Barista and Catering training programmes.
