Who the organisation is for: Men and Women, People from minority ethnic communities, Refugees and asylum seekers

Organisation description: BRASS is a local charity working and supporting asylum seekers & refugees. We provide a full range of support and information services in our main building and in 2023 we supported 1046 people and recorded 2100 visits with 283 attending ESOL classes with 647 supported across our immigration advice service. Our volunteers contributed 3796 hours to support our organisation and its services. In our main building we provide: Immigration advice, ESOL classes and conversation cafes, and Hub activities running throughout the year. Our Women’s’ Centre is open two days a week: With 2 sessional workers, holding ESOL classes, in conjunction with Bolton College, and sewing classes with a teacher helping women to develop their own skills. BRASS is working in partnership with the Red Cross and Refugee Action through a Greater Manchester consortium called Step Change. We also run a number of project including: Employability Project funded through CVS and Community Digital Inclusion project with Bolton Library . BRASS is OISC registered.
