Organisation description: Beacon Bolton Counselling Service, established in 1990, is a well-established local charity that provides therapeutic counselling to anyone age 16+, irrespective of race, religion, gender, or sexuality. Over the past year, appointments have been offered to hundreds of people with issues ranging from stress, to anxiety and depression, bereavement, anger, relationships, abuse, suicidal ideation and more. With our team of dedicated counsellors, Beacon offers support to those intent on improving their mental and emotional wellbeing. Our team of qualified counsellors, and a limited number of students on placement, have access to training and opportunities for continuous professional development. Supporting volunteers ensures they are equipped with the skills, knowledge, and resources necessary to deliver high-quality support for our communities now and in the future. Opening Hours: Monday to Friday 9am – 9pm Saturday 10am – 12pm Due to COVID-19, face to face counselling is suspended, however, we are still operating, and clients have the option to access our services via telephone or Zoom. Please call if you are apprehensive about these ways of working, many others were too. The majority have reported a good experience.
