Organisation description: Bolton’s Library and Museum Services sit at the heart of communities in the borough. The services provide access to information, inspiration through collections and promotes reading for pleasure and learning. The library and museum building on Le Mans Crescent is home to: The Central Library that includes a Junior Library, Adult fiction and non-fiction books, reader development events and activities, access to computers, free internet, wifi, a reference library and a History Centre containing Archives and local studies resources. The Museum that contains; • One of the most important Ancient Egyptian collections in the UK. • A Local History collection that tells the story of the town. • Natural History, World Cultures and Archaeology collections from around the world. • A fine Art collection with a focus on 20th century British art & sculpture. The building also has an Aquarium which specialises in the conservation of tropical freshwater fish. The community network includes nine community libraries and two historic Halls: Smithills Hall & Hall I'th Wood
