Organisation description: MhIST (Mental Health Independent Support Team) is an innovative user-led organisation with over 30-years of experience, providing a responsive, safe and confidential service that supports people with mental health challenges and their carers’. Our purpose is to support people in a positive environment where an individual can flourish and achieve their goals, i.e. to maintain good overall physical and mental wellbeing. Our services are: • Inclusive, responsive and creative; • We are a committed to supporting people to drive their recovery, develop self-management strategies, and respond positively to future challenges. An increase in the number of referrals in the last 18 months has meant that we have had to adapt to the changing needs of our local Bolton community and offer a flexible approach to maintaining good mental health wellbeing. This includes but is not limited to: • Building on service users’ strengths and abilities; • Exploring and identifying service users’ aspirations and preferences; • Supporting service users to make their own choices; • Overcoming barriers and challenges.
