Organisation description: Greater Manchester Centre for Voluntary Organisation (GMCVO) is the voluntary sector support organisation covering Greater Manchester. Our vision is of a strong, diverse and influential voluntary sector in Greater Manchester. Our aims are to: • strengthen the voluntary and community sector, build bridges with other sectors, and influence local and national policy; • support local voluntary action by local people, working in partnership with other support organisations and with the public and private sectors. Our services include training and consultancy, information, research, and databases; while project work is currently focused on health, transport, health and volunteering. We are also involved in a number of networks and partnerships such as health and wellbeing, equality and human rights, and community buildings. We encourage all voluntary and community organisations working in Greater Manchester to become members; and we also welcome public sector bodies and academic establishments based in the sub-region as associate members.
