Organisation description: The group meets twice monthly and provides a safe environment for local people affected by a stroke in which to meet and socialise. The group organises speakers, independent living activities such as communication workshops, therapies, craft making, social entertainment, lunches and trips out. The group is completely volunteer led. We have members who have aphasia and have difficulty communicating so socialising with people who are going through the same problems as themselves helps them to better understand their needs and helps members to recover and move on.
