Organisation description: We run St Paul's Community Centre on Halliwell Road, High Hopes for Halliwell-being. Our aims are to create new opportunities, improve quality of life and strengthen community for the people living in Halliwell and surrounding areas. There are long-standing issues in this deprived area related to low aspirations, high unemployment, drug and alcohol abuse, anti-social behaviour, health issues and social isolation. We provide a diverse range of activities and opportunities, so people feel connected to others, their peers, and other generations. We want people to feel a sense of belonging and pride in their area, knowing that they are valued and can contribute to their community through volunteering, supporting events and getting involved in groups and activities.
