Volunteers Week 2018

Volunteers Week 2018

Celebrating Volunteering in Bolton

This year for Volunteers Week, Bolton CVS visited a number of different venues across Bolton to promote and celebrate volunteering.

As part of Volunteers Week, Bolton CVS held an event in the Market Place, Bolton on Saturday 2nd June, 10.00am – 2.30pm.  The event was a huge success, we had stalls from Bolton LGBT+, Bolton Adult Autism Group, Bolton Citizens Advice Bureau, Age UK Bolton, Bolton Lads and Girls Club, Bolton College, The Stroke Association and once again Manchester Fire Service who brought along their children's fire engine!

Bolton CVS ended Volunteers Week by hosting a Pitch and Pitta event held at Odessa Café.  The event gave an opportunity for local community groups to pitch their ideas and have a chance to win up to £300.  The groups that pitched were; Bolton LGBT+, Bridge Youth Group, Bolton Deaf Society and Horwich Memory Café.  The successful group to win £300 was Bolton LGBT+.

Bolton CVS provides a range of support for people who are interested in getting involved in their local community through volunteering.  Over this week, Bolton CVS has interacted with 976 people in Bolton!
