Press Relase: Building a Brighter Bolton

Bolton Community and Voluntary Services (Bolton CVS) has been awarded a 3-year contract from Bolton Council to provide support to people and those organisations that exist to make a positive change in Bolton.

The focus of the work will be championing the value of volunteering and connecting people to the volunteering roles available in Bolton; building awareness of the funding available to good causes in Bolton; and helping groups and organisations deliver a quality offer.

The Leader of Bolton Council, Councillor David Greenhalgh, said:

“Bolton’s community spirit and local charities are a massive part of what makes our area special. “I’m delighted we will be working with Bolton CVS to promote the excellent work these groups do and to match even more people with the volunteer role that is right for them.”

Bolton CVS have been providing services to charities, community groups and volunteers in Bolton for almost 30 years. The strong history of partnership working, community engagement and championing the role of community action and volunteering will continue, together with providing advice, support and guidance to people who want to make good things happen where they live and for other people in the town.

There are 1,561 voluntary and community groups and organisations in Bolton. More than 46,000 people regularly give their time through volunteering.
